Default State Ref Ticket

So I was driving on the freeway at 65, highway patrol pulled me over for no front plates. After he asked to pop the hood and cited me for modified intake.
I have few questions for thoes that have gone through this process.
1. Can I retake the "test"? I want to see if i'll pass with the car in the current state. So that the cops can bother me no more.
2. The ticket shows no front plate and aftermarket intake. Will the state ref question me about the exhaust as well? eventhough it is not on the ticket?

Thanks

You won't pass the state ref with a non-carb exempt intake.

If you mean the smog test? You could pass that with flying colors with anything, if it doesn't have a carb # you're S.O.L. It's a fix-it ticket right? Did you keep your old intake?

And pull in very quietly

even if you pull in quietly they put it on the smog machine regardless. stock exhaust and intake and you will be good. as well as height.

What a pain, hate to say it but some officers on the road are
on the otherhand the officer I went on a ride along with was real cool. A Sti with a huge angled exhaust would drive by and he would love it. Later in the day we saw a GTR and he went nuts lol

Anything after the cat is not smog related. No need to change the exhaust.

As long as all your modified parts (except exhaust) have a CARB# your ok. otherwise you'll need to change it and go see the state ref.

There is no "test" you can take to prevent the cops form sending you to state ref. In the future (if everything has a carb#) I would keep the carb#'s visible, and/or make a folder of your mods and the carb# attached to them. That way when your pulled over you can show then very quickly that everything is a legal mod

They can still give a ticket for noise of the exhaust. Its in the cvc. State ref might let it slide might not
