saw that on craigslist this morning and thought it was suspicious. it was listed in milpitas but map shows modesto. i checked the phone # , area code definitely dont look like it belongs in the south bay area. hope you nail this guy man

someone flagged or deleted the post, we did however get the person contact number which was forward to the police. the theif is also an fedex employee. once the investigation stops we will post the whole story here.

I find it weird that the S2K is pretty small in the Bay Area, yet people still turn their cheek when they knowingly buy stolen parts.

Yeah, sometimes you need to use your gut feeling; ad look shady (item is not stored correctly, esp a hardtop upside down, on the concrete floor etc), not sufficient info. The same goes with the interaction with the seller; i.e. long, drawn out stories...

Again, I don't think it's hard to spot. Sometimes buyers are too eager because they found what they're looking for and at a too good to be real price.

Example:
- Shady ad for hardtop (no price, little to no information of item): https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/pts...204345274.html
- Legitimate ad for hardtop (mentions price, very detailed information, even offered to deliver!): https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/pts...239033687.html

I may sound idealistic, but it's not like many of S2k parts fit on other vehicles; again using the hard top as an example.
