Default The Traffic Thread

This thread is intended to warn your fellow S2ki drivers about construction on highways/expressways going on in the Bay Area that would negatively impact commuters.

This morning, I was unpleasantly surprised to find that Central Expressway west in Sunnyvale was forced to just one lane before Mary for repaving.

To avoid the mess, I turned right on Mary North, made a U-turn at the next opportunity, headed back south on Mary, then turned right back onto Central West.

Central Expressway West appears to also be restricted to one lane due to repaving. Traffic really crawled around Easy Street, so I took 85 North to work. I don't know how far Central West is being repaved.

I hope this helps your commute.

Dude, did any of you drive out of the city via Bay Bridge yesterday? I rolled past S. Van Ness, it was backed up to Market, I rolled to like Bryant & 9th or whatever, that was backed up to Mission, so I just got on the Bridge @ like 5th + Bryant. It took me a total of 2.5 hours to get from Oak St. + Stanyan to where the double decker part of the bridge starts...

Traffic seems to be normal now on Central Expressway between Mountain View and Sunnyvale. Both lanes are open each way, and the roads have been repaved. They are nice and smooth.

traffic on 280 in San Jose was bad in parts today ,

SB 280 stops up b/c of the Saratoga Ave Exit ramp. Been like this since 11 o'clock hour.
and
NB 280 stops up b/c of the 880 interchange.

nothing else to report for now on traffic

We were stuck on Van Ness for more than an hour last Saturday going from California down to the freeways. They just have to do something about the traffic in The City. Closing those ramps is not the answer.
