Ugh. Not getting the "warm and fuzzy" with Larry Hopkins service...
I'm supposed to take my car in before 6:00 today for the clutch TSB, window TSB, and the 15k service. My service advisor, Makul Amin, has no idea what is going on. I brought it in last thursday to see what work need to be done so they could order the parts.
----------
"Do you guys have the updated clutch in stock? I believe there's one that's not more than a couple of months old."
----------
"Yeah, we have everything in stock"
----------
"Ummm.. okay. The window relay, too?"
----------
"Yeah, everything."
----------
"Oh, and about the window relay, if you're just going to put in the same thing that came from the factory with the original '00 and '01, I'd rather just skip it because it will probably fail in a few months anyway. Can you check if it's an updated part?"
----------
"Sure" (calls the tech guy, who comes in the office)
----------
Tech guy: "Yes, there is an updated part, but we have to order it."
----------
at tech guy's knowledge and news on the updated part, ,, at Makul telling me that everything is in stock when it isn't.
----------
Then this morning my cell phone says someone from Larry Hopkins Honda called me this morning - must've been in the shower or something. I call Makul...
----------
"Hi, this is Art. I saw you last thursday for my s2000 service, and I got a call from you this morning."
----------
"Who's this? I didn't call you. Must've been someone else."
----------
"Well, my cell phone says that Larry Hopkins Honda called."
----------
In a condescending tone: "Well then what did the message say?"
----------
"Nothing, just the phone number.... ummm.. so are the parts in?"
----------
After a couple minutes... "Yeah, everything's here."
----------
"Cool! I'll be in before 6:00"
----------
"See ya then..."
----------
"Oh, and do you know how long the servi..."
----------
***CLICK***
----------
(Dialing again) "Hey Makul, it's Art again. How long will my car take?"
----------
"Should be ready by 5:00 tomorrow!"
----------
"Really? Even with the transmission work?"
----------
"Transmission work? Okay, we'll need it for a few days then..."
----------

Why didn't you call Menlo Honda. It's closer to SF than Hopkins Honda. Everyone who has been to Menlo Honda has had a good experience. The whole service department at Menlo Honda is knowledgeable and friendly. I go to Menlo Honda even though it's a 40 minute drive for me...

lols, haha so your car is in right?? or no?? sorry to hear about the bad service, there's always some people who don't know shit, at the dealer. Which will bring me up to my dealer story, I'll post it later Hopkins has been good for me, so just that guy I guess.

Mine is in now for 054, the service guy calls and says "does your car jump out of gear or grind?" I say "no" but he suggest they do (I assume) 055 at the same time. What's up with this? Excellent service or factory rip-off by dealer billing for unnecessary/non-existent work?? They have been very good so far doing my rear window replacement even though the car was purchased elsewhere and the window was already scratched by the selling dealer keeping the top down on the floor.
BTW they have a black/black and a silver/black 2002 each one MSRP plus $5K.
