Do they have to drill into the side of the door in order to fix a door ding?

I've only seen holes drilled in to quarter panels, he goes through the window opening but I'm not sure about dings directly below the door handle though.

He can also do dings on the quarter panels if they're more towards the rear but you have to remove your tail light.

I have a pretty nasty ding on one of my doors. Not sure how big it is though. Put me down for one repair.
