Default What are signs of clutch going out?

Recently I notice that whenever I rev high in 3rd or 4th gear going up hill, such as onto a freeway ramp, I feel shaky grind as if the gears aren't gripping entirely. My car has over 100K miles. Any ideas if this is a sign that my clutch is going out? Are there ways to check the lifeline of your clutch at a shop?

Over 100k+ miles and not gripping while revving going up hill. Sound like you need a new clutch.

Revs rise, speed does not= slipping clutch. Apply handbrake, sorry, parking brake, engage 4th gear and gently try to pull away, if it revs, time for a clutch, if it stalls all ok.

Put it in 4th gear and floor the gas up a steep hill. If it revs but you're not going fast like you should be going, then you need a new clutch.

I don't have that problem yet. It goes, but the car seems to shake that gives it almost like a grinding sensation. But no I don't have high rev & no go issue yet...

As in it's trying to stall at low RPM when you're in a high gear? That should be normal..

put the car in 6th gear, and let go of the clutch. if it dies automatically your cluch is still good. if it takes a while for the car to die, your clutch is slippin.
