took my 83 year old mom to the supermarket today [corner of el camino and grant road....s2k heaven right?]..and saw a rather dusty silver/black pull up close by....walked over to talk to the owner [noticed that the top hadn't been up in months..pretty cool]...and it turned out to be a local guy with a real early 'oo...he had bought the car in oct 99 locally and had never heard of any s2000 web activity and seemed surprised it existed....i then noticed he had NONE of the "mimimum" mods that we all seem to have..he knew nothing about tranny fixes ,grinds,etc....he loves his car and seemed to treat it as ,well, just his car.....one wonders how many more of them there are out there.......

i guess what i ment was that every time i see a s2k on the road i think it's "one of us".....i'm beginning to think there are a bunch of folks who bought the car and drive it without the priceless access to our beloved forum......duh.

I have been impressed with the attitude of S2k drivers and their appreciation for the car. More often than not, they wave back at me, which I consider a positive sign of identifying with other stookies.
I also have the "high performance" Sentra SE-R (it's all relative), and rarely if ever do we acknowledge each other on the road. 50% or more are women, too. So I think we're doing OK on having owners active in the "community".
