Yeah that was the original idea. I'm gonna keep it so that I can still go for a weekend cruse comfortably (HA! Yeah right, not with 16KG springs) when I want to. I'll just have to swap pads and rotors between track days.

Hey think you would like to go with us to Buttonwillow on the 31st or 1st? I want to see that Miata chase down the big cars

I know, I gotta hit a trackday one of these f**n days! My excuse is autox this time, and I know El Toro is knocking on the door coming mid July. Don't worry, when I do actually pull myself to do it, I'll be sure to leave all of you high powered guys lots of room to pass, just share the drag with me though is all I ask

it seems to be suited for small lightweight cars, but cars that also have enough power to get out of those corners as well. Yep, Miata's are momentum cars, and sometimes people think they are just plain cheating with them, as it's pretty basic to get the car under 2,000 lbs without stripping whatever's left of the stock interior, which ain't much.

No excuse now Rob, May 25th there is a regular autox at Fresno Fairgrounds. I'll be there for the autocross school on the 24th to help setup and all.

OK so I spent the weekend driving around on the new set up. The Tein SRCs are awesome! I definitely would not not recommend them for a street car. If the road is smooth the ride is not bad at all. The coilovers are really smooth over long smooth undulations in the road and feels very close to the stock compression and rebound but with more body movement. The sharp bumps are a different story though. The car crashes over them making everything in the car squeak. Continuous bumps in the road bounce the car and the occupants like a martini shaker! In the left lane heading north on Blackstone the hoped and bounced all over the place. I ended up getting followed by a cop until I turned off Blackstone (BTW I saw you Marco and another GPW S2K).
Crossing major intersections with ruts in the road is next to impossible! I can forget about ever trying to drink a cup of coffee in this car
You have to be really careful when taking corners fast. A big enough bump in the road that was not a problem for the stock suspension can cause the back end to hop over the bump and loose traction. The 16kg spring rates are definitely a bad match for low quality street tires.
Cornering on a smooth surface is incredible though. There is no body roll and the car stays flat. This makes it very easy to break the back end out and power you way through the corner Breaking hard there is virtually no nose dive.
I cant wait to take them out to the track. I'll keep you guys posted.

If anyone wants a ride with 16kg springs let me know.
