2002 S2000 Purchase FAQ
Hi all,
I'm about to take delivery on my 2002 S2000. Can anyone provide me with some pointers on what to watch out for or check before I sign on the dotted line and drive off? I'm set to receive it from the dealer on Wednesday, October 31. Hopefully, someone can help me out by then. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Lakerfanatic

Thanks Sebring.
I did go through and found it was very helpful. But can someone help me understanding some of it.
What is the boot cover? And what type of dash imperfections have been found? Also what does the small key punch-out w/ key code for? Lastly, do all S2000 come with a security system?
Sorry, for the newbie questions but just don't want to overlook anything.
Thanks,

The boot cover is used to cover the convertible top when it's folded down. It's big, you can't miss it.
Just look over the dash and if you see something weird, ask for a discount on the car And don't let the salesman tell you it's normal
I forgot if the small key punch out had a purpose, but the code is the last 4 digits of your vin number. It's just something that comes with the car and something you probably should be given when taking delivery of the car.
S2000 comes with a basic security system. Just a keyless entry system with a panic button. Not sure if that panic alarm will respond to a forced entry.
Good luck
Enjoy the car
Don't forget to come to the meets!

Forgot one more thing.....
Where are the spring holders and rubber spacers located? And do they need to be on or off when I pick up my car?
Thanks,

Spring spacers are rubber blocks placed between the spring coils. They limit suspension travel during shipping but MUST be removed before you drive it. Look at your springs. If you see anything between the coils remove it.
