Stumbled onto this while on ebay, followed the directions and it's legit. Ebay gives you the best percentage savings, while other online stores average 15% or below.


Here are the instructions:
Microsoft Live is offering up to 30% Cashback (Max savings of $200 per purchase) on eBay search returns.

Go to Microsoft Live Search Cashback Program and set up an account if you don't have one

This link brings you to a search page that has an ebay hit on it.
Click on any ebay link (either on the top or in the right) from a search result showing "www.ebay.com" as well as "Buy xxx. You may get 30% off with PayPal if eligible."

Once on a ebay page, you can search on anything you want to find and "buy it now" hits give you the 30% savings

Or you can search by any other keywords as long as you can find the 30% off sponsored link from ebay

Find any item on eBay with "Buy it Now" and accepting Paypal. When you click on "Buy it Now" and log into your eBay account, you should see "Microsoft cashback 30% off" before clicking on "Commit to buy" the item. If you don't see this, close it and try again or try on other products.

Pay with Paypal

An email with Cashback details would be sent to the email address associated with your ebay account

Or Check your eBay account, you may see a message about the cashback
Follow the instructions in that email and claim your Microsoft Cashback. You may have to wait 1 or 2 days for the cashback to show up in your Microsoft Live Cashback Account.

Yeah there are some hoops and usage restrictions but if you can find something that fits the bill, 30% off is nothing to sneeze at. One big problem is you have to spend money to save money

So far I have squeezed the trigger on a valentine v1 and a dell flatscreen. Total Savings > $312

hmm... i'm new to this. is the microsoft live cashback account the same place/account that i use to pay for my live account for my xbox 360?

how long is this good for? i get nervous when i don't see the 30% off immediately, and i don't like hitting the buy it now button unless i'm committed to buy.

Sounds like you have a live account already. When you buy an ebay item, you will get a ebay message to link to your live account.

If you don't see the microsoft savings stickies on the ebay page, you didn't do the search with microsoft live . Use this search to get a ebay hit to go to so you can search for other stuff on ebay.
