Default Any good detailers in the LA area?

My dad just picked up an 06 berlina and it's nearly in showroom condition with a few very fine swirl marks. He had a bad experience with his last black car (01 Acura CL-S) since he didn't regularly wax it or take special precautions for the paint. He doesn't really have time to handwash it every week and took it out to one of those 10 dollar car washes which swirled the paint etc. He definetely wants to be more careful with this new car so I thought I'd help him get started on the right foot since I don't live there to personally detail it myself. I figured a good detailer that can slap some durable polymer sealent on will go a long way in protecting the paint if he can't wash it as often as he'd like.

I was wondering if anyone knows a good detailer with a reasonable price that can wash the car and put some sealent on it that will last about 6 months so he can just wash the car every week or two and still have it in decent shape. I was going to order him some Klasse products and 303 top cleaner but I don't think he really wants to spend a whole day messing with the specific procedures and steps of each product.

Any reccomended detailers plus ballpark pricing and locations would be nice.

www.starrdetail.com

I used them before the Nisei show.

AMAZING!

They come out to you, bring a van with 450gal of ionized water...will wash, claybar and wax. They even Teflon coat for extra $50. Detail/Claybar/Wax = $175 IIRC.

The dude there, Mark is really cool. They also do it QUICK! 40 min total.

I HIGHLY recommend these guys. Just take a look at their site!

Looks like he does good work based on that pic, any idea on pricing?

Also for the other company 175 sounds pretty steep to just wash/clay/wax unless it's a full system synthetic polymer like klasse AIO/SG or Zaino which will last 6 months.

$175 isnt actually steep considering the average detailer who doesnt provide their own water/shade/mobility etc charges $125-150. After the job they did I honestly considered it money well spent. Just call them and ask questions, I mean they do high profile autos/coasters and celebrities vehicles..... see what they have to offer.

I dont know specifics, but I do know my wax is supposed to last 6 mo.

Sorry Beb but anyone who says they uses Teflon wax . Dupont has even said there has been no proven good effects with using Teflon in their wax Teflon is a marketing scam.

Try http://www.exceldetail.com/
http://www.superiorshine.com/

or go to Autopia.org. The California forums there should be able to point you to some of the better detailers.

Call that fooo Ganesh. 949-365-6214. This kid will drive to your pad too. He is pretty damn meticulous for a 22 yr. old. Plus, his parents always kick him out of his house so he needs cash.

I paid like $160+tip.
