Anyone know how much a ticket for 25 MPH over in local is?
Got caught doing 65 in a 40MPH zone....anyone know how much the ticket is going to be? Also i got caught while the police was (chillin) in front of me in the between the yellow lines...is it even possible for the police to radar me from behind? he didnt show me his rader or nething......by the time i saw him, i slowed down to 45 (it was uphill)...i got a good 1/6-1/8 mile before i actually pass by him....he followed me for awhile before actually pulling me over.....also is it worth to fight?

In California it is legal to go over the posted speed limit if you do not exceed the basic speed law and you can prove it was safe. What this means is you can't go over 65 mph and you have to prove it was safe. I have done it and won several times. The judges generally are impressed that you know the law and the cops are pissed because even if they have your speed accurately it doesn't matter.
The last one was for 55 in a 40 zone. That cop had smoke leaving his ears he was so upset when the judge found in my favor.

Check out this web site
I have learned a lot from this guy.
I am in the middle of fighting a ticket by mail, maybe a little "double jepardy" play will net me a win.
sorry to hear about the bad experience and good luck fighting it.
Also you may want to check out the K40 radar detector w/ lazer jamer. It is a VERY clean install and works well, both front and rear w/ seperate indicators.
happy cruzin

i think 25 over the posted limit bumps you up from the 150-180 level to the 350-400 level. I got a ticket back in Feb for going 21 over the posted 50 mph. The cop said if I was going a few miles faster, I would have gotten a ticket for 360ish. I don't know too much about this stuff. just my 2 cents

Standard price is 10 bucks per mile for the 1st 10 miles and 15 dollars for every mile after that. So i'm thinking 325. The judge can chose to lower it though if he wishes.

If you havn't done Traffic School yet , they will usually give you traffic school, plus 50 dollars and the Penalty Assesment.
All depends on your past record i guess.
Usually comes out to traffic school and 200 bucks total.
