Well first of all, holdback incentive is there to help the dealership for advertising, keeping the vehicles on the lot, paying for the lot, paying for the electricity bill, paying for the porters to wash the cars and absolutely nothing to do with profit margin. (Anyone in sales understands this)

obviously those dealerships are all from the east coast. I literally didn't mean they were working for free, but they ain't making much.(What are mini-deal commissions for salespeople now, $50....$75? It may be true that you can get one close to invoice at other parts of the country, but when they do it here in S. CAli, I don't know.
