Bird strike in the right engine during take off, so we had to do a emergency engine shut down on the effected engine. Flew out about a half mile out and was clear to land on any run way. Made it safely, to bad I don't have the picture on the engine

Portugal to Newark. Storm closes all airports in the general vicinity. All domestic aircraft turned away; only international flights in route over the Atlantic are allowed to land.
Plane rocks and drops so badly that a woman next to my co-worker has a heart attack; the guy across from me is playing air drums with his eyes closed; the dude next to me is groaning and moaning for his mama and praying to Jesus, then one by one everyone begins vomiting their fajita lunch. Have you ever smelled fajita vomit? Luckily, I didn't eat the fajitas.
This went on for 45+ minutes.

A lot of those were pilot training or airplane testing videos, which is why they were single-airstrips in the middle of nowhere...any why there is a guy with a video camera at the front of the airstrip.
Awesome vids, tho. Amazing what a hunk of metal can do.

Leaving Miami airport, at take-off we lost one engine.
Heerie silence for a few seconds, waiting for engine to kick back -up.
Plane started to drop rapidly and the stewardess was laying flat on the ground. I really thought that was it!!!
More pls...this is great! Who here is a pilot?
Cheers,

I was having my flight lesson in Cessna 172 at El Monte airport 2 months ago. It was a scary moment when we were landing as the crosswind was blowing by us.
I can't imagine what it would be like in those big planes, but those pilots have plenty of flight hours under their belts.

but my girlfriends dad is a mechanic for American Airlines and he says that even if a plane loses one of its engines it can still fly
but in your case i dont know what happened, i think while taking off its a big deal to have two engines but while you are in the air cruising then one engine is fine

Exactly! accidents most of the time happen at take-offs or landings. (WTF happened to the AF flight???).
In between you can always glide.
It's was a small private jet and one of the engine shut down right after lift off. Runway still in view, climbing over the Atlantic.
it was 6 of us + crew and we ALL thought for one second...this is it. Say your prayers, your good-byes and have one last look at your life.
When everything went back to normal, we all were euphoric!!!
