Default Decided to go to one of the Hawaiian islands for

The future wife and I have never been to Hawaii. So, We decided that is where we are going to go for the honeymoon

Seeing if anyone has any experience with traveling there? We are lost as to what island to go to. we would like to avoid the city, and heavy traffic areas

anyone have any advise on a resort, or a specific island to stay on for a honeymoon?

Thanks in advance

BTW, this will be in August

Any of the islands besides Oahu

Seriously though, Oahu is pretty much just like LA, but with better beaches. If you do decide to go to Oahu, make sure to stay up in the North Shore to get the true feel of Hawaii.

Other wise, any of the other islands in the chain are pretty phenomenal for a honeymoon

Maui is my personal fav. Four Seasons in Wailea is the shiznit

august is hot and humid btw - that aside, I've been to Maui, and for my honeymoon went to the Big Island and Kauai. Depends on what you want/like to do. If you want pampering at a resort, any will do. I personally enjoyed Maui the best - a nice mix of 'regular' things to do plus very good snorkeling, cheap stuff too.

Been to Maui and Oahu. Both islands were very different. I am a people person and love the city and I found Oahu very interesting and fun. I think I had the most fun there because there is so much to do.

Maui is more for the person who wants to relax and do absolutely nothing. Very beautiful and peaceful and less touristy, but at the same time a little boring.

Although I've only been to Oahu (Waikiki) the past 2 times that I've gone to Hawaii, I've heard a lot of the same thing. Oahu is a bit more crowded, just like LA except the scenery is amazing. A majority of the shops/stores/restaurants are right on the beach and is very nice. I've heard many good things about Maui and Kauai except if you stay there for more than just a few days, there really isn't much to do and found that people were getting bored easily.
