Hi JROD,
As an owner of 3 FJ40's, I have to say that I have waited some time to see a truly comparable product as the original FJ's.
Realizing I am an FJ nut, my friend owns one and he let me wheel it a little bit out in the desert. IMHO this is as tough as the original, however I am not to hip on the stock gearing, and I thought they would improve the towing capability (wheelbase still to short for large loads), but these are minor things. They still kept the cool things like rubber floors, lockers (new), and chain driven transfer case. BTW the rock sliders are a must!
Otherwise an outstanding tow, beater, etc. everything vehicle.
I am considering buying one after this summer. (Blue or possibly yellow)
For whatever it's worth
