I haven't done the block test yet. I noticed that my heater was not working this morning. This afternoon, I let the car idle until the heater blows hot air. I let it cool down and opened the radiator cap and heard air coming out (like when you open a soda bottle) and also noticed that the coolant level is about 1/4" lower than last night. I cannot tell if that amount went into the reservoir.

I am leaning more towards a blown gasket. What do you think?

If coolant is getting into one cylinder you will notice the piston is cleaner then the rest, similar to when you decarbonize an engine with high milage you run water through a vacuum port and it cleans the carbon. so i would take the spark plugs out and try to see the piston. You might need to rotate the engine until the cylinder you're checking is at bottom dead center so you see most of the piston. At work we had a v-10 with a misfire code on the pass bank it was a leaking head gasket when it was apart the piston was clean.... And right now actually im working on a thunderbird which has a blow head gasket on cylinder #3 sure enough the piston was cleaner then the rest and the head, but this failure was very evident took the spark plug out and filled the coolant with water and it just drained out the spark plug hole, head gasket sealing ring looked as if it was eaten by corrosive coolant due to lack of maintenance.

I feel like this thread should be copied to one of the Civic forums... Would probably come in handy for someone with the same problem.
