Depends on what kind of activities you're interested in. if you're into nature/hiking i'd recommend kauai. it's a really laid back island with lots of trails. not really any nightlife, though.

Depends on what you are into. Nightlife = Oahu.

Get away from it all, combo of Maui/Kauai.

How long are you staying for? Budget? And you could even do multiple islands.

Oahu (or Waikiki where you hotel is most likely loacated) is really crowded. That said, you get the most variety of food and entertainment on that island. I stayed in Maui a few times (Kapalua & Wailea) but unless you are a golfer you really won't find anything to do there besides relaxing on the beach.

Kauai is even more laid back, and from what I hear Kona is more a nature lover's place.

x2 for Oahu.

I disagree partially. There's tons to do on the other islands as long as you have the funds to do it. There's much more than relaxing on the beach.

Few Maui activities:
Snorkeling/diving @ Molokai - Clear waters, I saw a shark, tuna, and many sea turtles, and much more.

Road to Hana - Amazing waterfalls, great stops, 7 pools, etc.

Helicopter tour

Zip lines

Maui Haleakala Sunrise tour - Absolutely amazing, wake up super early, go to the top of the Volcano and bike 20+ miles almost all downhill. The views are breathtaking and the biking is super fun with splendid scenario most of the way down.

That being said, I would do a two island trip. One in Oahu and one to get away from it all at another island.

go to kauai for your honeymoon like everyone else. it's awesome. felt like half of the tourists were there for a honeymoon.

stay at the princeville or grand hyatt.

Congratulations

Maui was great for me, lots of sandy beaches, some chain like Roys and Outback. and a Costco want to go back someday soon

Hawaii, Big island was lots of lava rock, limited sandy beaches, the Volcano was really neat

Oahu was a hawaii LA, to commercial, if you want to see pearl harbor and pay your respect- but that a vacation spot not a happy Honeymoon activity
