i was told by the dealership that it was better just to remove the soft top in the OEM.. and also they told me that the hardware that comes with it.. will make ur soft top non functional..

i want to know if this is true.. this is the ONLY reason why i have been holdin back on buyin a hardtop..

if anyone knows the details.. please let me know..

i def want a hardtop... if the soft top is fully functional.. so i can take off the ahrdtop and store it.. so it can be convertible as well..
The soft top will still work if you add the hardtop. Just pop the hardtop off and its like it was never there. The side catchers you install don't affect the function of the hardtop in anyway and the stronger latches that are basically the same as the OEM ones, you cant even tell a difference, which are above your sun visors work with both hardtop and soft top clamps. Why would honda make a part for a car that eliminates a major feature of the s2000..... the convertable?!

On another note I had the mugen CF hardtop and removed the soft top as well. My reason was weight reduction. The soft top and motors are about 65-70lbs which is very very noticeable when driving around esp. with 4.77 gears ... This car has a lot more potential but you gotta open it up a little and drop weight... IMO.
