Default Need Help buying car....will pay locals!

Hello,

Need help from the S2k Community. I am looking at a 91 NSX in Garden Grove Ca. I would need someone with a good eye (with cars) to go out there let the salesperson know that you are there to look at the car for me (they know me)

I am looking for specifics here....any body work...if everything looks original etc.
Maybe someone with NSX knowledge would help. I would like to be on the phone with you when you are there. Participant will be reimbursed through paypal. (or i can send a check)...if anyone can help me out please let me know! It would save me a trip out there.

Here is the dealer information:

Garden Grove, CA 92840

Be careful of cars in that area of the 714 or dealerships in the 818 Burbank/Glendale area.

Many are auctioned cars or what not, and just repaired good enough to sell and the history of the car is almost never disclosed.

Focus Auto many gets their cars from auctions. they are very well known for their NSX, Supra, RX7 collection that they sell there.

The Jako (owner's son) drives a R34 and is a big part of the the small Skyline GTR Community

I'll just post here in the PM that I just sent Jaydem just in case anyone else is interested in this car just to save you on time.

I checked it out last week along with a friend that's also currently in the market for an NSX, it showed some serious flaws/repairs.

1. Paint was not well-taken care in its life time.
2. Driver seat is worn.
3. Passenger side 1/4 panel was repainted at one point or another.
4. Car will need some major maintenance work (timing belt, clutch, and valve adjustment)

I'd highly recommend finding another one.

auctioned cars aren't a bad thing all the time.. the car is a 91.. prob has quite a bit of mileage on it. wear and tear is normal for a car that old.

just depends on what ur looking for. if u want soemthign super clean then ur gonna have a hard time looking for a 91.. this one could be in good condition for the year. its close to my work. ill try and check it out too.

im sure huy has a good eye.. but he might be more picky then most and look for anything wrong in order to low ball the crap out of them haha

ill see if i can dig up my paint reader. i took it from toyota when i was still doing appraisals and lease returns

Oh, and I forgot to check to see if it was in snap ring range...Didn't bother after I test drove it and saw all the problems.

I would recommend buying an Nsx from nsxprime. I purchased mine there and by buying a car there you can ask in details about the cars history and even look up past owners and pm them questions. Buying an Nsx is a headache, you can buy a 91 for 20k which will be in really bad exterrior condition and then have to do the timing belt and clutch and then factor in the possiblity of it being in snap ring and you're having to put in another 4-7k in it. So 24-27k and crappy paint will give you a very bad Nsx experience. Go on prime and try to find a well maintained and service documented 91-92 Nsx for 25k from the get go. Feel free to pm me.
