I need some help everyone... I have an '04 engine and transmission in my 01. And i got a ref ticket, so im trying to put everything back to stock '04 spec. Everything is almost back to stock except the ECU. I'm running an 01 ecu with my 04 engine, but I'm afraid the state ref might want me to use the '04 ecu. (they might make me do a smog check?)

has anyone been to the state ref before? how did it go?

I need a honda dealership that can reprogram the 04 ecu i bought, so that my key will work with it, so it will start up. The ecu has an immobilizer, and it is programed to recognize a certain key. I need to reprogram the ECU to recognize my key. If any of you reprogramed another stock ecu and took it to a dealership, which dealership did you take it to? i need to get this taken care of ASAP, so please let me know guys. I'm worried most dealerships won't know what i am talking about...

You just need the 04 ECU's VIN number. Take it to the dealership, they'll do the swap, and reprogram your keys. I believe it's around $100

i hope the person i bought the ecu from still has the Vin# for it and is willing to give it to me. is the VIN# a requirement? or can they reprogram it w/out the vin#?

i got the vin#. can anyone recommend a dealership for this? i'm putting on the stock exhaust as we speak.
