cool, thank you.

how bout the EV, i believe it is exposure. and i do read these things online as well, but i like hearing how other people explain it.

lets say the camera has a range of (-2.0 - +2.0). according to my manual the lower numbers should be used in darker settings.

-what do the numbers mean -2 and +2, and what is actually happening to the camera when i change these numbers?

The "F" numbers mean aperature, which is the opening size of the hole letting light in of the lens. A small number like f2.8 makes the lens opening large while a larger number like f11 means a smaller opening. What does this do? It affects the depth of field. A shallow depth of field (blurry background) is achieved with a larger aperature setting like f2.8 (which is usually good for portrait pictures). The smaller the hole where the light goes through, usually the more clearler picture you get. So when taking pictures of landscape and nature scenes, people usually use an aperature size of f16, or sometimes even smaller. Do I sound confusing?

the number is not f18 it's f/18(or f 1/18), so the value is actually smaller.
