Default Places to stay near Laguna Seca?

Anyone have suggestions of place to stay when attending Speedventures event at Laguna Seca later this month?

Thanks!

there are plenty of places, I stayed at the doubletree (way overpriced) in downtown monterey. There are a few places closer but your best bet is at downtown montery, plenty of good priced places.

ardy-goes to consult with the AAA travel book for monterey.

Had to dig through some old threads to figure where I stayed last year - it was the Clarion, and a bunch of us were there. It was quite a bit cheaper than the Embassy Suites, still in Monterey, but closer to the track.

I'm going to be rooming with a few others so I don't know yet where I'll be this time, but I'd stay there again.

Thanks, guys! Good to know of the places close to the track, especially where others are staying.

Embassy Suites. I only stayed there when I went to Laguna Seca because it's the official hotel for the track And from what I could see, it's the tallest building in that town lol. Nice town though, I liked it a lot.

I was in the group that stayed at the Clarion. It was a good place, not overpriced like some of the hotels in the area. I'll stay there again if I get to go the the Jan event. It's easy to get on the freeway from there and to get to Cannery Row. And it's walking distance to a Jack In The Box and a Chevron (but I guess there's no reason to walk to Chevron). As I remeber it, it was about 10 minutes to get to the track from there.

I guess you don't want to stay at the same place we stayed last year? It's not far away from the track. We spent half a day working on your car in the parking lot.

I havn't made reservations yet.

Spider, I was hoping to stay a little closer to Monterey and Laguna Seca, but the rate at Holiday Inn Salinas that SpeedVentures has on their site looks attractive. KT, any chance of you &/or anyone else trying Holiday Inn?

Hmmm, the place wasn't that far from Laguna Seca. It's closer than going from downtown Monterey.
