Please Help on info for San Diego loft - What is Little Italy area like?-Map included
What's this neighborhood like - Little Italy
There is a loft available that sounds great. 1 year old.
I see it's right by the airport and train tracks - is that gonna suck???
Give me the good, bad and the ugly.
We are not from San Diego, but relocating there very soon. Visited last March.
Thank you.

Here is the Loft info:
Little Italy Loft, $1095, Beautiful Harbor views w/floor to ceiling windows, 700 sqft., Urban style concrete flooring, 1BR / 1 bath loft, private parking ($95 extra), gated entrance, private patio with view.
Thank you for you help - need to find out asap.

Hi Kozmo,
I really like that section of town. Lots of good eats on India Street, and lovely views out west. Crime isn't really an issue till you go a bit further east, towards Balboa Park. If I wasn't already so happy with my current place (about 2 miles from there) I'd move into that area; it's very nice.
But one thing you might be concerned about - Laurel street is pretty busy, especially west of the 5. Lots of airport traffic - if you zoom the map out a bit you can see it's one of the major arteries between the airport and the freeway. Then there's the whole flight path thing, and your being right under it. I'd definitely recommend checking it out before you commit - you may love it, you may hate it.
Good luck,
Jason

I would really like to live down there. I have been looking for some time. That sounds like a real nice place for the money. Right now I havb't seen anything under 1350-1500 for a decent 1 bedroom.
You would be right next to one of my family's resturants, Kemosbes. (sp)
I really like the area just be wary of balboa park and a few other little areas. Again parking will be a issue you will only 2 spaces max. The noise will not be that bad as my cousin lived right under the flight plan, I mean you could reach up and touch the planes if you were on the roof and the noise was only a issue for the first 2 weeks tops.

When I used to live in San Diego, I looked at a loft in Little Italy. It was in a brown building with huge windows. I really liked the area, but someone got the place before we did
