Ariel Atom is also planning a nationwide tour so we can test drive the vehicle. Will keep you guys updated if they come around.

The Atom may have supercar performance in certain catagories, but it's definitely not a supercar.

I love the Atom, but it's really just a 4-wheeled motorcycle, and I don't think it should even be mentioned in the same sentence with an Enzo or Carrera GT. Supercars incorporate the pinnicle of performance with luxury, style, and technology. [The Atom has one of the cheapest engines on the market!]

If all the bodywork and amenities were stripped off the real supercars, they would crush the Atom!

I think the Atom is way overpriced for what you get! I guess it's tough to say, considering the small production numbers. Too bad there's not many other options.

[QUOTE=rworne,Jan 8 2006, 11:14 PM] Overpriced is the right word to use when you can get a Caterham for a lot less.

I doubt that you can order it from Ariel U.S.A., but you can definitely import one if you really want to.

But then you have the same problems as any other gray-market vehicle, i.e., you can't get parts or service for it in the U.S.

Not a very good idea unless you are a pro mechanic with all necessary tools, and desire to do all work yourself and wait for long periods of time to get parts.
