Why do we need our own political forum when there are two other political forums on S2KI.

Politics and Current Events

and in the S2000 Vintage Owners section:

Politics

Word of warning, when you go to these forums, they actually discuss politics, and most are very well informed, rather than call each other names like here in SoCal.
In my own opinion part of the issue is that then your discussing with 50,000 random people we dont know, some of whom maybe post once ever in there, or there are so many random groups chiming in that we don't/can't relate well.

If it is in our own SoCal area then we have at least some idea or are perhaps familiar with the person posting.

I think due to our particular size it's reasonable. Much the same as having our own swap-meet. I mean sure we could use the regular one, but hey this is close and local, we know many of the members who are in there and can get a good reference.

In any case, it's just a suggestion. I just think it'd be a positive thing for our area because it'd actually solve the Political posting issue as well as bring something interesting to OUR area.

Just hoping it could be passed along to some decision makers,
-Greg

I think you made that point in your original post.... Somehow it got glossed over.

Would you rather go have dinner with the entire student body from your school,
or with the people from your home room? It seems like an obvious choice to me.

IDK... Like I said... I shoulda revised, but too late.

My next question to those posing is WHY does the vintage section have it's own politics area? That to me makes less sense than the SoCal area having one.

What is the big NEGATIVE to this idea? My Concerns would be:

1. Would it have enough people posting to be justifiable?
2. Would people posting in that area rather then the General politics one be a negative?
3. Would there be any adverse effects to the SoCal forum in general?

To all of these my answer is confident "no". What are the other concerns?

-Greg

PATRICK can you please combine the YES/NO answers if possible?
Not only that, but we also talk Cali politics a lot too. And not everyone in the Vintange thread is from Cali.

IDK who the whiners/complainers are when ever a political thread pops up. I've been a few heated debates with some of the guys in here and it changes nothing IMO. In fact, it's nice to see where people stand and see their point of view.

You know, like the Prop 8 debate for example. Ah, good times.

I can edit the poll but I cannot fix the numbers, so it would have to start over. I'll leave it, we'll just have to do the math.

I never said this wouldn't happen, (adding a sub-forum), it isn't up to me, After a while, when more have voted I will submit this link to one of the admins and see if it is possible. It would be fine with me. Don't take that as a yes, they didn't want to add the SoCal FS section a while back, it took alot of begging and groveling to get them to leave that up after a short trial period.
