I wonder if that'll really work! If so, I'll have a hardtop as soon I get my top slashed.
It will work, but not in your case. The insurance companies take off 10% for each model year old your car is. In your case that would be 80%. On top of that you have the older top with the plastic window which is less money than the glass window counterpart.

Now I had my top slashed, seats took, and the alarm box under the seat was cut out. The insurance company mistakenly thought it was the SRS unit and i got an extra 650 tacked on for that.

Now if other interior parts happen to be missing, and you swore they were there prior to the slash/break in, then the insurance would have to pony up for those items as well.

I ended up getting 3970.46 after my 1000 dollar deductible

1500 for the seats alone

Buy a complete softtop assembly from a member and have a couple members help you put it in. You may even have some money left over.

What was your deductible? I assume that the quote was 1270 after they took out the deductible

some links to softtop sales

Its pretty . So my quote which is pretty much what the insurance company sticks to, came out to be a total of 1380.00 for the soft top with labor from a shop that they use. I have a $1000.00 deductable so they gave me a check for 380.00 bucks. So now I take that check cash it and find myself a soft top. Its so confusing the way they talk to you. So thats it. Thanks for your links. I'm going to take a look.

My god man, almost not worth going through insurance. With that little money, you may just have to goto an upholstery shop and get a patch job
