Hey, it's my b-day too. Well, was yesterday.. But back to the subject at hand. I got a ticket for going 110mph on the 405 in the O.C.. Had no choice but to get a few extensions and fight it. The ticket was going to be $1300.00 with a license suspension. BUT, the cop didn't show so the ticket was DISmissed and there were no fees or penalties, got off scott free!

Anyhow, I never did that again... talk about shitting bricks when it came to my court date. Even the judge was shocked and said I was very lucky the cop didn't show before he dropped the gavel and dismissed the ticket. Told me to "slow down".. hehe

Jim, I doubt you will need a lawyer for that.. just go to traffic school or fight it.. not worth the cost of a lawyer imo.

So request 12 hour traffic school, you can take it as many times as you need. And it carries the same effect as the standard 8 hour traffic school, no points on your record..

Only the 8 hour traffic school has the 18 month requirement. So regardless, just request via written letter to the court for a 12 hour school and you'll be fine.

It was on the 405 in Irvine, the cop said he tailed me for a 1/4 mile but I was looking and did not see any fuzz! B-Day Ben from Irvine has a problem just like this and recomended a good lawyer that helped him. Darkcrow I will send you the info. Sideways, I think i will still try to get into a traffic school before my court date, all it can do is help. DouglaS2000 you got REAL lucky man, I can only hope Thanks for all the info guys.

I don't think you can just attend traffic school, even if you did, the judge won't dismiss a point. The ruling in the Vehicle Code is a minimum 2 points on your record and a minimum fine. So either way, they're gonna put 2 points on your record.

They'll suspend your license, you can request that you be allowed to drive to work and home. Just tell them your permanent residence is in Irvine with TEAM IRVINE If you can prove that for your occupation, you need to drive to different locations during the day and the weekends , the judge'll be more lenient on the suspension.

Anyway, for the license suspension, they'll slap a sticker on the back of your license. Mine was for 90 days about 3 years ago.

That's if you decide not to fight it. Two points on your record by the way. 1 dissappears in 18 months, the other in 36 months.

Sorry for your ticket dude, I know how it feels. I'd try to get a good lawyer, the reckless driving fines went up after 2000
