He shouldn't rely on the cop not showing....considering the court will pay them ~$300 to show up.

I agree with you, good lawyer will drop the charge down to a more minor infraction. What matters is what you end up being convicted with. The more minor it is, the less the insurance companies will increase your rates by. Spending the ~$200 for a a good lawyer will pay off in the end with your insurance company.

My hope is that a good lawyer $200 to $500 can get the charge reduced, then I will take driving school to help with the insurance hike.

You are really fortunate. I had a friend that was hauled off to jail along that stretch for doing 120.

Like I said, the cop was going to, and inpound my car. After about 20 minutes of lectures from him, and me sucking up, he let me go with just the ticket and not jail.

That was why I joined the club, to meet people, have fun, and learn about the car!

I think the ticket would have happened sooner or later even if I wasn't in the club, the car it to much fun to drive!

Just more lectureing, in california you will have you licance suspended for going over 105+ no ifs and or butts. If you have a really good layer they will get it down to 104.5 mph and you will get 2 points as it is reckless driving. Trust me three of my freinds are walking to work still as they have no car or licance anymore. Another got off fine though with a hug ticket 800+ and 2 points. he got a lecture from the judge and had to write a essay of all things. These were all juvinal offenders if your over 18 get your walking stick warmed up as I doubt you will be driving for the next 6 months. That being said is your driving freedom worth 500 for 6 months, most likly so go get the best layer that you can find and pray to the S2000 every night that the cop gets a head cold or wis the lottery and does not show up as that is the only way you are going to get away with this.

I have been pulled over quite a few times so far only fix it tickets and stupid things like no tail lights but some day I will be busted I just hope I don't have a lapse of concentraion or a snealy cop come up on me next time I drive to vegas.
