Depending on how much your looking to spend. I am sure you can make money by buying a limited edition watch. Brand like Brueget, Glassutte, Blancpain would be a good choice... you can send me PM if you would like to know more.

Any limited edition watch that can be found there can be found here for similar prices.
The prices offered here are very competitive. If anyone wants the name of a SoCal authorized dealer of high-end Swiss watches (IWC, Blancpain, Breguet, JLC etc.) to mid-level (Omega), PM me. I recently purchased an IWC from them to add to my collection and they come highly recommended. They also were granted as only one of two West Coast distributors of the formerly JDM only high-end Grand Seiko lineup. Much like JDM cars we can't get, high-end JDM watches like Grand Seiko are amazing and rival the Swiss in craftmanship. Not too many Swiss companies can claim everything being made 'in-house' but Seiko can and is a true manufacture. Having Grand Seiko being made available in the US is the watch world equivalent to the car world breaking news back in the day of the GT-R officially coming to the US car market.
On another note, all the people I know who purchase high-end Swiss don't do so to make money. Buying watches is never a good way to get a return on your investment and I can personally attest to this multiple times over! Some brands/models retain value better than others and thus you might not take such a hit if you sell on the secondary market and some may increase in value but that is years/decades down the road. Better to buy what you like and will wear and enjoy than worry about what it will fetch as a return.

I find that you can do better (for watches & jewelery) here in the states than anywhere else. I've been told that there is a possibility that you could do better on Rolexes in Switzerland.. can't confirm that though. Cars on the other hand.. you can do better but it's also based on how the USD is performing.
Good luck, are you going for work of play?
