I bought my helmet online because I couldn't go into the store before a track day. It's not bad at all. The helmets are standard size. You just buy a tape measure and get a friend to measure your head. There are several size guides online for various brands of helmets.

I got a price of a helmet online. Went to WERKS II and tried it on. It didn't feel comfortable even if tho it was the right size. So I picked a better helmet and they gave it to me at the same price I found on the internet.

I didn't care to spend much money on a helmet, but if you go to www.ebay.com, they have vega helmets that are snell and dot approved for around 80 bucks i think. The vega helmets are the same helmts that are used for the indoor cart facitilities here in san diego (K1 Speed, Miramar Speed Circuit).

Go to ebay search and type 'Vega Helmet'.
