I usually use a Honda OE filter.

As someone else mentioned, there's a wealth of knowledge in the "oil journals" on S2ki... but it's REALLLLLLY long . Look for it in the "Under the Hood" forum stickies or something.

It's up to you if you want to switch over to synthetic oil at 4500... you could probably stay with natural for one more oil change, and then switch to synthetic on your next one.

As for what to request? Well... if you're taking the car to the dealer, request that they don't F*** it up

There are reported incidents where the dealer issued the wrong filter for our cars. It's a good idea to ask by Part Number rather than, "gimme the oil filter for the s2k."

Although it is not mandatory, also ask for the drain plug WASHER. If you forget it, no worries; just clean the old one and replace it.

About the oil, I presume you are going to do it yourself; therefore, there are several excellent choices available to you and great recommendations in the Oil Journals. I used OEM oil on the 1st change and switched to Chevron Supreme 10w-30 on subsequent changes. My selection was based upon convenience, performance, and cost, not in that order. If Chevron was not available, I'd look for Havoline or Valvoline next.

If you really like to read about oil, then search for BOBISTHEOILGUY web site and go crazy reading reviews.

The filter is the one that says PCX... this is the OEM one... only use this one...

Just get a stack of the washers, you do want to change them every time...

if you're up in the air about oil, do the WalMart thing... that Mobil One is the deal...

Most people advise staying with petroleum based motor oil until 7500 or 10,000 miles. After that synthetics are OK.

there are other oil filters from honda that will fit the s2k. just make sure it says PCX, and you have the right one.
