This is why I would never let my teenage son take a high performance car for a drive. To tell you the truth, if I drove an M5 when I was 18 I would probably have done something similar.
Heck I did something similar to an accord. I'd hate to see what I woulda done with something with more power.

My buddy has one of these cars a 2006 so pretty much the same thing, he let me borrow it for a week and i managed to keep all 4 wheels on the ground. its not that hard tbh.

Man that sucks though, my dream, fast car open air field, why leave it to play with the tree's?

In all fairness we are not running out of Teenagers.

There is also a small chance that an 18yr stole the car. Its far more likely that an 18yr old with a 2008 M5 who is an owner or the offspring of an owner, and is upper middle class to upper class. or rich.

So the "point" of the issue is that he was 18...or that it was an M5?

60, 70, or a 120mph is the same speed in a KIA or a BMW...how fast you get to said speed is a thing called "performance"...which we all LOVE...but if your going to drive fast...you going to drive fast...my 1st car was a 63 VW BAJA Bug...and I did SICK things in that thing...STUPID AND SICK things.

Would you rather have your child doing stupid things in a 63 Bug or a 2008 M5?

Answer: I would (like to) "hope" that my child would NOT do ANYTHING stupid...just as my Mom did...but she was wrong...as I am sure LOTS of your parents we're...no?

I let my Daughter drive my 07' 911 Turbo ALL DAY AND NIGHT for her 19th birthday (2 weeks ago)...why?

Because I "trust" her to know the difference between "fun" and "danger"...not just with my car...but what I truly value above ALL THINGS...her life.

The car came back in the same condition as her...safe and sound.

People drive cars...not the other way around...and if you want to go "flying" in a car...ANY CAR WILL DO.

Condolences to the family...that's the real tragedy.

cant say it any better then rambler. although would like to add... is this guy applying for the 07 or 08 darwin award?

its not bad that he kills himself *evolution* but he also kills 4 other people with him. thats 4 families that has been affected by stupid in fast cars.

we should just remove warning labels and just let evolution take place.

with Rambler... "People drive cars...not the other way around...and if you want to go "flying" in a car...ANY CAR WILL DO"

Sad enough the kid wasn't educated enough on driving skills with such a car, and respect for such powerful machinery.. When I was 12 my "Hot Rod" Uncle would give me rides in his 8-second mustang at Terminal Island, and all the dragstrips that I followed him too.. I use to cry, cause he would tell me that were just gonna go slow, and wave at people.. Why did I agree, I don't know, but he would laugh everytime we would pop a wheelie, and I can see nothing but the fuccen sky, holdin on for dear life.. lol He out of all people would emphasize car control, and teach me how to drive his hunk of iron before I can even drive.. I remember not wanting to drive such a loud and smelly car, the damn thing had no a/c, no carpet, and alot of other things that you would rather have when driving a car.. But me being young, and naive at the time I didn't care, I wanted to drive the damn knight rider car, or the Bmw from 90210!! As an adult, I now understand why he taught me, and why racecars are like that obviously.. Regardless

To the families of this tragic accident, I send my condolences..
