I would do a bit more research. When the 7's came out they were EXTREMELY GLITCHY. I'm not sure if they worked all the bugs out by 04. In fact there were very good deals on 03's because of their software problems. I personally love the 7 series and would pick it over any big luxo in the class solely b/c of how it drives but I would be weary of the early models. 05 is a safe bet but not so sure about 2003. My .02

Great cars...amazing to drive and very luxurious.

With all of this complaining about I-drive. I have to believe that it is easy to navigate once you've adapted to it.

Live with the I-Drive for a week and you'll see that it's not as bad as everyone says it is. It reduces clutter and once you get a hang of the menus, you'll see that it's quite simple. My mother who's in her sixties and who cant figure out how to add a number to her address book on her cellular learned the i-drive basics in a month.

Great cars...the only thing I don't like about the 745 is the steering wheel, it's too skinny and don't like those shifter buttons on there. They drive very well and it will surprise you with it's quickness and handling for such a large and heavy car.

I believe they came out in 2002 and there were a lot of problems with them. Not sure if they had all been addressed by 2004. If you must have that big of a car, it's a fine automobile for both sport and comfort but I'd look into the 5 series as well. At a recent BMW driving event, I drove the 750 and the 550 back-to-back and was amazed at the difference in speed and driver-input. With the 7, you just want to lay back and cruise the hwy but with the 5, you look forward to the next stop-light and turn.

There is a reason for the good deal. The guy wants that thing off his lot. Pass on the 7. Save your self on repair bills.
