Default 06 Accord EX-l

I ordered an 06 Taffeta white EX-l last week, and was wondering if anyone here had experience with the 03-06. Things you like/dislike, problems you've had, mileage I can expect from the 4 cyl. Any comments appreciated.

I had a 04 V6 auto sedan for about 6 months. Not too much experience with the 4 cyl. I wouldn't expect any problems, same old accord fundamentals except that V6 was no joke, fast as a stock s2k from a roll, good for mid 14's. The mileage can easily be found online I'm sure, upwards of 30 on the highway, high 20's around town.

I have an 04 EX-L I4 5M (coupe, though, Graphite Pearl) and it's great -- nicely balanced handling, sufficient power for both city and highway driving, some VTEC kick for when you feel like winding the engine out. Very comfortable and well-designed interior. Average gas mileage 32, best 35, worst 28 so far.

Only complaint has been a rattle in the left rear C-pillar (turned out to be a loose airbag bracket). Sometimes I wish the audio/climate system were a little less integrated (to add MP3 capability I'd have to drop XM), but that's pretty minor.

It's obviously not in the same league as a sports car as far as speed and handling go, but "sporty" enough that my wife keeps asking "Why do you need an S2000? You have a sports car!" I preferred the handling slightly over the V6 version, so the lower price and better mileage seemed a good trade for the less aggressive acceleration. Have fun!

Thanks for the comments, i'm exicted about having the Accord as the daily driver - and from the previous description, think that i'll enjoy it very much.

We have an '04 Accord EX with the 2.4 and 5 speed. It's a great car.

My only gripes with the car are the handling (which is a little sloppy) and the transmission's gear ratios. The build quality is great and the 2.4 has plenty of power. I also wish there was a tad more leg room.

I have a 04 EX V6 with almost 60k The car is rock solid my only compliants would be the stock brakes and tires, after 40 k i put on wider all seasons 225 vs 205 and aftermarket pads both things greatly improved the feel of the car.

Solless,

I've got the same car as you and I'm up for brake pad replacement. Did you do it yourself or take it to a shop? How much did it cost you?

My Honda dealership is saying it'll cost $550 to replace all pads and shave the rotors. Sounds a bit steep to me and might consider Meineke or Midas.

i did it my self it is very easy
i just replaced the rotors w brembo oem sized blanks and aftermarket pads ( i don't remeber what kind) it cost me under 125 for just the front

at that time the rears where still good

i have since done the rear which cost a bit more because i could find a aftermarket rotor so i had to use honda rotors and pads

550 isn't to bad for a shop to do it, my buddies dad just paid $1000 for all 4 pads and rotors at a honda dealer in FL ...i told him he could have flown me down there with parts for less

Yeah , I priced it out. Midas was a joke. They thought the EX was the base model and had all 4 drums So no way am I going there.

Called Meineke next, they were charging $430. Figured for 120 more I'll get it done from the Honda dealership and have no worries since they are resurfacing the rotors.

OP, sorry for hijacking your thread
