06 Supra (Code named project 395)
To be nitpicjy, I think the numbers (if it is released at all-I hope so) are a bit off, at least on the V6. The new IS350 with the same 3.5L V6 is making 310hp. A Supra with the same engine would make at least 310 if not more (325hp is a number I've heard tossed around).
As far as the V8 goes, I hope it makes more than 350hp. If the V6 is making 310hp to 325hp, I hope the V8 accordingly makes around 375+hp.
My reasoning is that I think Toyota wants sales, but I hope Toyota realizes that if it wants to compete in a market where there is already a dominant car, it needs to have specs above and beyond that car. For example, the Celica GT-S was a better car than the Integra GS-R but it wasnt enough. Despite having almost 3 years since the USDM ITR came and 6 years since the GS-R arrived, it wasnt faster than the ITR and only having 10 hp more than the GS-R, allowed Acura to come out with the RSX with 200hp and over take it easily (at least on paper). Same with the MR-S. Another nice car but the specs were just too close to the Miata, the perenial leader in that catagory (the only player for a while). Imagine how much more the MR-S would have sold with the GT-S engine and how much the Celica GT-S would have sold if Toyota released it with more power to being with. The fact is that a vast majority, while not everyone, of buyers who are looking for a sporty/ sports car, consider specs to be very important.
The point is that if Toyota wants to compete with the 350z (which I assume means toyota wants to be a fairly high production car, more so than the S at least), it cant come out with an identical 300hp (the 35th aniversary and 05 Track) and expect to sell more than the 350z. 325hp in 100 lbs lighter chassis might do the trick- at least on paper - which would help sales- since the base 350z "only" has 287.
The V8, if it costs over 40k, would also need more than 350 hp because 40k+ is over the price of a Mustang Cobra- which will have 450+hp, but close enough where people might consider a Corvette- the American Icon. I think that's where the MKIV's went wrong, when you start bumping up against the Corvette in price, you'd better be an amazingly good performer in real life and on paper and look damn good, unless you have a nice badge on the front and sometimes that wont even help you- a la Z4. Having a horsepower number closer to the C6's 400 would help.
I know two things I want for sure. First, I dont want this one to weight a ton like the old ones (werent the twin turbos around 3400 lbs? Part of the reason that my fav. 90's Japanese sports car was the RX-7). Second, I dont want the Supra to go away again; more choices for sports cars, the better- even if I dont end up liking some of them.

seems interesting... just imagine also a 350Z with a 5.6L Titan motor reconfigured for higher HP :gasp:
That would really spice things up in the japanese market.. a 350Z in Corvette territory.

Toyota tends to be VERY tight lipped about their future models. And whenever information does leak, it's usually a 'strategically planned' leak by them.
In the meantime, here a a couple more concept pictures to enjoy.
This is by far my favorite concept rendition thus far. Probably because it stays very close to the MKIV design.

Aston Martinish?? I always thought they had similar lines...
