Default 06 Z4 R6 ENGINE!

Has anyone else seen the recent news from bmw stating that the 06 Z4 will be equipped with the R6 engine from the 3ser. That's about 258 horses featuring valvtronic and magnesuim parts... hmm,I think it will take the S at that point, what does everyone else think?

I think it is a soccermom wanna be car regardless of what engine it has in it. For almost $50k, it BETTER be faster than the S2000.

Also, what is the weight of a Z4? If it's fat, then that extra power isn't going to help it against an S.

weight of Z4 is reasonable at 3000 lbs...considering it has all those luxury amenities....
they should focus on redesigning the exterior....

The Z4 is already faster (albeit slightly) than the S2000 with the 225hp engine.

No it isn't. But then isn't it odd that you and the moron who started this thread are both new members.

According to all of the car mags, it's as fast as the S2000 to sixty, although it starts to fall off at higher speeds. The new motor should keep it comfortably ahead of the S2000 at any speed.

225 and 3,000 lbs is faster than 240 and 2,700? Are we talking about some hypothetical frictionless environment or something I'm not aware of? Does the Z4 have an auxiliary jet engine? Maybe that's in the 05 model.

New members? 160 days isn't as long as 3 years of course. But c'mon.

I've shown my respect to the S2000 in the past and feel free to go read my past posts. I'm no troll.

BTW, yes the Z4 is slightly faster. So minimal that one can ignore it, but still sligtly faster.
