Default 07 Fit.

the wife and i are thinking about trading our MY05 TSX for a new 07-08 Fit. i guess we just dont need the TSX and would like to have a car that can haul stuff home from Home Depot/Lowes and also seats two adults in the back comfortably. we are also trying to buy a house and the bang for the buck Fit seems like a lock for what we are looking for. we dont want any kinda of SUV/PU.

so now that the Fit has been out for a while, what are those that have a Fit enjoying/hating about their Fit?

what did you get your Fit OTD for? if you dont mind sharing. you can PM me if you want to keep it somewhat private.

what sublte, useful modifcations have you done to improve your Fit?

i dont plan on making the Fit any kind of tuner, but more like lowered on 15's with tint, and an intake for some aural pleasure.

and i didnt post this on HT, due to that fact that no one there seems to be over 15yrs old.

thanks guys!

From my experience (helped friends get Fits) they seem to be selling at MSRP.... maybe you coudl get some accessories thrown in, but not a lot of wiggle room to begin with.

IMO keep the TSX until after you buy the house. Never take out a loan/lease within 6mos-1 year of applying for a mortgage. Then get a Fit. I think they're sweet, and may replace our pathfinder with one..

it'd say go for it. i was thinking about trading the TL for a Fit. Love that car. test drove the paddle shifters. lacking in power, but handles great, loads of comfortable room, saves on everything, gas, insurance, registration, dont need to worry when parking it (seriously, since it's so ugly already, dents would only give it character).

My brother got a Fit Sport MT for $18k otd. Dunno how much that matters because you live ina totally different area than I do.

The car is fun to drive, and storage is amazing. You really CAN put tons of stuff. Today we bought a sink and it fit in the back without folding the seats down!

Why would you need to go to home depot when you dont own a home yet? I would recommend keeping the TSX until it's paid off, by that time you will be ready to buy a house. Selling a car 2 years into it's ownership will cost you alot of $.

The Fit won't save you money if you have the RSX half paid for then you trade it in for what? you'd probably pay off your loan.

It sounds like an idea, but seeing as the Fit costs $16K it's nearly the same as a new RSX. Not like you're going from a M3 to a Fit so the payments won't be so much different.

FWIW if you are serious about saving money, buy an old Escort for $1K. We sold our old Escort to our neighbors 4+ years ago for about $800 (friends price). He's been driving the wheels off it ever since. Its a hatch and you can fit a sink in back. Etc.

Where I live (MD) we pay tax on all new (or used) cars, the tax on the Fit would be $800.

Do what you want and what you feel like you have to do. But the truth is no one NEEDS to buy a new car. Most cars sold are used cars. There are a heck of a lot of good value cars.

As for the bit about it being lowered with rims and tint (etc..) thats not the thing you should be doing when you are saving for a house. You should be saving every dime.

Rims and tint and lowering a Fit.

I can not believe what I'm reading. Its fine if you love to mod cars, but saving and buying and modifing new cars does not make any sense to me.

see this thread -->>Click

EDIT, I thought OP had a RSX (more similar price to a Fit) now I see it's a TSX so some of my post is wrong. Payments should be a good bit less, but if saving money is the goal, buy a $3K car better idea.
