Default 11 second civic

Hey, I have a friend who is considering buying a Honda civic that supposidly can run 11.2 in the quarter mile. The car has a greddy turbo running 12 pounds of boost and bigger pistons and cams. I don't know too much about everything he kept on going on about but he did say it still had the original 1.6 liter engine in it, it was just beefed up. He also is running a 75 shot of nitrous. He's buying the car for 12,000. With this set up, is 11 seconds possible?

Original 1.6 liter motor? As in the stock 1.6 motor?

I don't believe it.

Highly unlikely. I would not have thought the stock engine can take all those bolt-ons. Be careful what kind of condition that engine is in !

Nah i don't think it's possible unless he gutted the whole thing and ran slicks.
Low 13's and high 12's sound right.
Unless he has a big can of NOs heh.

Thats a prettys erious claim so if the seller is serious that thtas what he runs. Then he shouldnt have a problem presenting you with a quarter mile slip he got at the track when he determined that he ran 11.2? If not hes full of shit. Hope thta helps o and jsut a san opinion the car could be pretty gutted but that 1.6 couldnt pull a radio flyer so i tink the guy is full of it.

I think we need more information. what year, what engine, 12lbs of boost is not all that much, is the car stripped and track only or is it daily driven?

There are lots of stripped civics with turbo's running low 11's with slicks!

You need to get more details. b16's are easily modified, but only came in the Civic Si coupe here in the USA. anything besides that would most like single over head cam, and you state "bigger cams"... so i assume it is a b16.
