Yes, but then I don't really "get" classic cars. I'd love an E Type, but not for $80,000+ you have to pay for one in good mostly original condition. Heck, I'd rather have a modernized one than a restored original. To me, a 2000GT is basically just a 240Z. The best modern day equivalent would probably be the Nissan GTR (near Porsche/Ferrari performance on a budget) and the Lexus LFA (a needlessly more expensive alternative). Neither really do anything for me in the way an E type does, or a Ford GT40, or even a classic Mini. They're just cars. I might spend a few thousand more for a 2000GT, but certainly not tens or hundreds of thousands more than I could get a perfectly nice 240Z for.

And even considering the ludicrous prices 2000GTs sell for, yes, I think that one is significantly over priced. More importantly, what held true in the past holds true today. Why would you possibly want to spend more for the slower, uglier, copy when you could just buy an E Type?

 

Meh, theres a wait list for the LFA.

With this I can get it instantly slap a 2JZ and make 800hp+

Collectible car prices ALWAYS seem too much for non-collectors. Likewise, that does seem too much for me, as do the prices for collectible American classic muscle cars, classic Ferraris (vs. newest models), etc. But to collectors who can afford them, they buy them because they want to.
