Some things on the list don't make sense.

More Ford Thunderbird than Miatas?
More Lexus SC430 than Honda S2000?

Also of interest, I've seen some early 2006 stats that indicate the Solstice is spanking the MX-5 in sales.

I think about 5-6k S2000s in 2005. Surprised there's no 330i Cabriolet on the list, or Porsche Boxster. Glad I don't live in San Jose and have to read that paper!

My uneducated insight: Although the MX-5 is a great design, most people who want a Miata already have one. Compared to the Solstice, which is a new and unique product.

Good then. Makes the s2k a more exclusive group when Honda kills it.

The S2000 not being a best seller is one reason why this car is so great. I don't want something everybody else has.

that's a shocker. I'd have sworn the S2000 would have been in the top 15.

Thunderchicken beat us and they aren't selling enough for Ford to keep it around.

Can't believe how many Lexus SCs there are I don't see that many where I live.

Ford sold almost as many rustang than there are S2000s total.

It's a crying shame that Nissan sells more 350Z verts than honda sells S2000s. well it's good b/c less S2000s is better for us b/c our car isn't all over the road, but a direct comparison b/t the Z vert vs S you'd think no one would want the Z b/c it weighs 3400 lbs.

PT-cruiser verts have got to be the worst looking verts in the world.

I remember the time when there were no verts or very few being sold.

Is Honda still shipping only 5,000 per year to the US? If so, that would make it impossible for the S2000 to get on that list. Many of the greatest cars will never be on the best seller list simply because of production, not consumption.

Boxster and S2000 (IMO) are the best roadsters around.

It does seem as if Honda has given up on the S2000 with minimal change in 7-8 years, the Boxster started out a 2-3 year before the S2000 with 201hp and now the base is up to 245hp (+44hp) while the S2000 is not up one dot.
