Default 2006 CBR 1000rr

Hey guys, I'm thinking about selling or trading my bike. I purchased it brand new from the dealer back in 06. It was originally the blue/yellow edition till I purchased the 07 repsol plastics. It approximately has 3500 miles, Leo Vince slip on, intergraded taillight, greggs customs turn signals, and repsol orange pin striping tape for the rims.

I hardly have time to ride it, so I took it out for a spin last Friday and felt kind of uncomfortable. Reason why, I'm 5'6 and weigh around 150lbs now, when I purchased the bike I was a lot bulkier (180lbs) and felt better on the bike. Can anyone relate? Either way, I think I want a smaller cc bike now or just sell it :0l

I like the 06+ yamaha r6 and I also like the ducati 848 as far as looks but I haven't done enough research on the performance/handling. Any complaints or concerns regarding the bikes?

im 5'7" 160 lbs.
im using ducati 1098 for sreet/track and 2007 R6 track only.

is your CBR 1000RR your first street bike? if so, i would sell/trade for a 600cc bike.. take it to the track and have fun with it!
if you want more info regarding trackdays on bikes.. here: www.teampromotion.com

the Ducati 848 is nice, should be good for street / track ride. only thing i dont like about ducati is the maintenance..valve adj, timing belt every 7500 miles. which will cost around $500-$1000 at the dealer.

The 1000rr isn't my first bike. I owned a few hondas before; 600 f3, 600 f4, 929rr, 954rr, and the 1000rr. I also own a 04 600rr which is set up for track and I attended a couple track days in NJ with it, had a blast.

If I end up selling the 1000, I can always convert the 600 back to street and just ride that for the time being. I just don't have the urge or need for something with so much power on two wheels. Do I sound like a wuss?

yeah,, trackdays are fun... as for streetbike, its really up to you what you like 1000cc or 600cc , whatever you are comfortable with.

i would like this Duc for street/city ride though.. just waiting for my friend to sell it..

^^ that looks like a very comfortable bike.

I love my 1000rr but I can't really utilize the power on the street or even the track especially at this weight. I need to figure out what the bike is going for nowadays and just sell it or trade it for something with less cc.

I really enjoy my ZX-10r. I love having too much power haha. I had a 08 ZZR600 (00-02 ZX600J) as my first bike. It was just lacking on the power I thought. I am a big guy though. 6ft, 230 lbs. I know the zzr was a very capable 600cc bike, would keep up with my buddies on new gsxr600s and cbr600, it just wasn't enough for me.

With that said, it's all about what you feel comfortable with.

By racing standards you are overweight . Those guys in Motogp are in 110-130 range.

I'm not in the moto gp but thanks for pointing that out ;0) NYC has a lot of traffic, not enough open roads unless I travel upstate. As for track, I never tracked the 1000 but I did track the 600 and it has plenty of power.

You would get a lot more use and fun out of a 600cc than you ve will the 1000 being a smaller guy.
