I'm surprised you found an FX35 for $18k. Everything around Charlotte is an '05 and nothing is less than $23k.
My vote would be for the FX35. I've been considering the same!

I driven both in the past. Only a few miles in each so nothing more than long test drives. For overall comfort I'd take the Chevy and in real world driving the MPG's might actually be better also. Very nice truck with a good deal of room but not so big as to be hard to park.
The FX35 didn't ride as well but the interior was of course nicer. the handling had a more sporting feel to it. That last reason alone makes it my 1st choice. The Chevy is however a very nice, very quick truck that I could be happy owning as well.

I looked at the SS a few months ago when they were dealing them out in my area. My concern was the need for only synthetic oil changes as well as some other minor (but could be major later) problems. I went thru all the message boards and just would not pull the trigger after reading so many posts with opposite feelings.
FX on the other hand will probably be the wifes next car when her current lease is up this year. Time will tell.
