2007 G35 S Sedan 6MT
Hey guys,
I am helping my brother shop for a new car. He's a car enthusiast, but not as hard core as me. Still looking for lux/practical/sporty/manual. It's down to:
1. 2007 G35 S Sedan 6MT
2. 200x IS250 RWD 6MT
3. 2006 M35 (Automatic)
We found an interesting G35 that he might go look at, but C&D had their reservations about the manual transmission on it. Link to article Do any of y'all have it and have any issues (vibration/buzzing, rough 1st gear)? Or do you know of a good G35 forum i can go lurk?
And do you have any thoughts on any of those 3 cars?
Thanks in advance!

IS250 6MT transmission is terrible and the suspension set up is god awful.
With that said it's probable still better then the crap Nissan makes. (Current G35 owner btw)

make sure you drive the G35 6sp, I drove both a G35 and a G37 in stick form and the clutch really behaves like an on/off switch..very hard to modulate. I wouldn't buy that car because of this.

IMO it shouldn't be a deal breaker. It's not buttery smooth like a S2000, but more mechanical and notchy. It is precise though and I never had a problem. There is a little buzz through the shifter but just enough to let you know it's there. You get used the clutch and it's fine unless you do a lot of stop and go driving in heavy traffic. If he wants a ultra quiet ride with no driver feedback then get the Lexus. G35driver.com for more info if you want.

Although not as precise as the S2000's tranny, I've gotta say, the G's is very resilient, and takes a TON of abuse without issue. While the G isn't the most well put-together car, it's very reliable, and a tremendous value. I would highly recommend it. If I don't get another company car, that'll be the first car I consider purchasing as a daily driver.
