I am always amazed by the stupidity that flows from peoples' mouths when it come to unions. Most have no idea what they are talking about and are just repeating something they heard some other jackass say. Hoth, your tiny statment is so full of fail that I don't have the energy to point out all of its flaws and I doubt you would have the intellect to understand the points anyway. Have a good day.

Spud pointed out some of the big issues with unions to me.

Being union didn't make his relatives good workers. That is an attitude and it sounds like they would be good in any job. But it sure protected the bad-worker examples. That sh*t wouldn't last a day in today's tightly run business. Costs too much money when margins are so thin. And ultimately that means unions cost us money we didn't have to spend because prices could be lower if they were able to cut out the dead-wood workers.

I'm not saying unions didn't serve a purpose. But their day is past. OSHA, Fair Labor, and child labor laws protect workers well enough today.

Those laws are in place because of unions. If the unions disappeared, so would those laws. And no new laws or updates to those currently in effect would happen. Each side fights a constant battle against the other. If you take one away, the other wins. That one guy sitting on the toilet being lazy would do the same in a non-unionized job. Taking away the union wouldn't change him one bit. But taking away the unions would affect EVERY employee in this country. Not just the union ones. Lazy and unproductive union workers are still disciplined and fired. The only difference is that they are guaranteed due process and protected from unrightful prosecution. Its the same way that criminals are awarded the same benefits. Sure some criminals slip through, but I would rather have that happen than to give the govt the unregulated ability to imprison anyone they feel like. Those are the ideals that this country is built upon. If you take away the unions, then the big corporations will pump money into the political parties to make sure that the system is changed to allow them to do as they please. To think otherwise is idiotic.

I'm hesitant to give it a YES because my last car was a 99 Exploder and the worst vehicle I've owned. Where do I start... two master cylinders went kaput, two bad O2 sensors, leaky head gasket, bad thermostat, shocks went quickly, rattled/shook like hell, cd player died, cup holder broke off, hood latch needed to be taken off and greased, etc.

BUT.... I'm willing to give Ford the benefit of the doubt because they've really seemed to turn the corner and I love the interior/exterior styling especially the back seats.

Great post. So glad to get that perspective on here for a change.

I disagree those laws would go with the unions. I further disagree about the dead wood employees. They wouldn't last a freakin' day where I work. Unions seem are all about the entitlements with little regard for the health of the underlying business. Senority by how long you're there rather than actually doing a good job. That's how the wood gets rotten.

But I can see we'll have to agree to disagree. The difference is I don't call you an idiot for thinking otherwise. Nice union mentality there.

<--- Not an SUV guy.

However, the execution of the design (especially the interior) is very well done.

I do wonder, though, if the quality of materials will reduce the overall impact of this interior design. For instance, remember when the new Malibu came out. The photos of that newly designed two tone leather-looking interior made the car look stunning, but after seeing and feeling it in person, I was let down - felt cheap.
