As more and more engines are getting uglier and uglier I must say that is one of the few good looking modern engines. I know it does have some plastic crap on it (and the intake tubes are plastic with metallic paint). Regardless, it's a good looking motor at a time when most motors look no better than the Mustang's V6 (a very not good looking motor!)
I couldn't agree more.

395 at the wheels.
I would say they are lying through their teeth about 412hp.

edit: here ya go: http://blogs.insideline.com/straightline/2...tang-gt-50.html
That's pretty crazy. It seems like just yesterday when the Mustang GT made 240 hp, if my memory serves me correctly.

You can take it off if you want:

I'm pretty sure the intake color isn't paint but rather the color of the composite.

I'm not a Ford guy, nor a Mustang guy. That sounds dumb because I've owned three Mustangs, but in my defense I do find that Ford occasionally makes it hard to deny the deal they're offering you. Who else will sell you a RWD V8 in that light a package for that kind of money? And they make the car sound good off the dealer floor, as well as give you an engine that as you said you can look at as a thing of beauty rather than hide it away under plastic 'cuz it's ugly. And nobody has anything real bad to say about the handling?

I'm not saying the car is "light," just that it's a lot of power for the money, and for the money there isn't a lot of options that are better in the ways that count.

I recall reading that it was specifically colored to look metalic. I thought it was painted but you might be right that it's a molded in color.

That's what I was saying when I saw the first pics of the engine bay. I love it, man, what a motor, first major step forward in a long time for the mustang. I mean I had no issues with the modular 4.6, and it did make more hp in stock form compared to the old 5.0, but the GM folks always had them in spades with their LTs and LSs unless you went into the cobra range which at that point wasn't necessarily fair. As a GM biased guy, this engine really rubs me the right way, love it, can't wait to take a spin in one.

Jesus Christ. Dude, we don't give a shit about how excited Honda is with their airplanes, robots, lawnmowers, or solar powered butt plugs. We are bothered by the fact that their cars are increasingly disappointing from an enthusiast's point of view.

If I say that I hate Microsoft and think their products are shit and you happen to discover that Microsoft also turns out to make really good hot chocolate mix are you going to use that as the basis of your argument that I am somehow wrong about Microsoft's computer products?

We're talking cars, man.
Epic post.

Whipple SC's are going to be running under the Shelby GT350's. Power rating are said to be around 550-560 hp.
