I like my civic si, but I have no desire to get another one, especially this one. Honda is making some terribly mediocre cars now. Too bad. At least some other car companies have the drive to put out some good stuff.

So this is what Honda has come up with after one year delay? I am not impressed. The front end is tooooooo similar to the current one, that's fine. The rear is worse than the current model in my opinion. The interior looks the same to me. 2.4L engine is good for a torquey family sedan but no good for a sport-minded compact. But it will sell, that's all Honda cares.

I have to say that I'm disappointed. I expected more.
1. No powertrain update. Same motor, same transmission. I expected a new 6AT for this car, at the least, plus a bit more power and torque from the motor.
2. 8% improvement in fuel economy when everyone else got 15% or more in their last iterations. Yes, Honda was leading before but still, they should've done better. Perhaps the only saving grace is that they tend to get better mpg than EPA rates them for. It's still the highest in the segment but just barely!
The looks are neither here nor there - might be better and might not. I'll wait to see it in person. The wheel gap looks pretty bad but Honda traditionally seems to have some pretty bad press photos (Crosstour, anyone?). I think the interior is probably a step up.
Weight is supposed to be down and the interior is supposed to be bigger, which is nice. Still, delaying a whole year for NO POWERTRAIN UPDATES seems a bit ridiculous to me.
I'm not sure I see a reason to upgrade from our current generation Civic, that's for sure.
