Whether it is 400Hp or 600Hp the traction control system will choke you down to 300HP in most cases anyway. With that said, I want 600HP in my mustang to brag to all my peeps at the 7/11.

It strikes me as a little odd that no one bats an eye at a 630 hp ZR1 Corvette yet we're prepared to deem this car undriveable.
No, you won't find many opportunities to use 600 hp while driving around town. Cars like this make power like this so that the .01% of the time that you want to get crazy, you can get crazy.

You'll get no disagreement from me that the Corvette is better in every way that I would deem important, but I don't follow. More specifically, I understand in principle what you are getting at but I don't think it tells the story accurately. The ZR1 shares its platform with lower powered Vettes the same way that the GT500 shares its chassis with lower powered Mustangs so I don't think its fair to draw that type of comparison. The disparity between the 630hp Vettte and the 400jp Vette seems comparable as the disparity between the V8 Mustangs, more or less. I would wager that the Vette's chassis is superior to begin with so it's not an apples to apples comparison but you see what I mean. Furthermore, you, me, Chris S, Tarheel, Rockville, and a handfull of others are familiar with the differences between the chassis to an extent that we can have such conversations about them, but I'd be willing to wager that a fair number of people on this board would have trouble picking either out of a lineup so I can't help but scoff at their denouncement of the Mustang.
Also, in terms of putting power to the ground, the Mustang's rear suspension configuration is theoretically superior (only in that regard, I'd argue). I don't feature that the Mustang will come with enough tire but in a world where you can cram 10 inches of rubber under a Miata, I'm a bit skeptical that the Mustang is incapable of coming with wide tires.
In short, I too am aware of the Vette's advantages over the Mustang but I doubt that's what most people were suggesting.

A big thing is that like it was pointed out the Vette has the chassis & suspension to handle the hp. Essentially the car is upgraded with bigger brakes, MRSC, larger tires, etc. In the last MT test, even with 285's in the back & their upgraded suspension package the GT500 was overwheming it's chassis. Car is in seriousl need of some 315's+ in the back, not to mention at a minimum the performance package should be standard. Thought you wonder if 3700+ lbs narrow body is just too much to push around a track with any suspention.
