2014 Corvette
Appears evolutionary, which is ok by me. Not sure that they can really make it much smaller/lighter and still be capable of handling 600-700 h.p. stock. Still need enough room underneath for big tires, especially with RWD, and suspension. If they try to shorten too much, you end up with a twitchy, short wheel base car. I like the idea of narrowing the rear end, but I'm not sure what the wind tunnel says and I'd rather let form follow function.
If it is styled to look a little less blocky, even if the size stays roughly the same, I say ok. And I guess that now would be a good time to restyle the interior.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, it needs a smaller, tapered back end like a BMW Z8 or an Aston Martin DB9. The flat wall-shaped back end they have now is the worst looking part of the car and really cheapens the whole package.

Really? It's like a big plastic butt lid; it's all one piece. It looks like they didn't try to stylize it at all. It's unnecessarily thick looking and just odd. Don't get me wrong, I like the Corvette, I just can't get over the goofy butt.

Not only that, but the worst part about the big plastic butt in MY opinion, is the fact that the transition from the fender to the bumper is NEVER SMOOTH. If you've ever tried to follow a reflection from the fender back, it always goes wonky at the bumper/fender seam.
SUCK.

Best pic I could find showing the issue. It always looks so horrible to me. If the car above were black, it'd be easier to see.

Is that the factory part? I agree with what you are saying but I don't know if that bumper cover is factory. The spoiler edge looks too large.
Actually probably a few. The thing is the Corvette just isn't that big a car. The tail looks big thanks to the other proportions of the car but it's not that wide nor is it that tall. It's just that GM's cut lines on the sides are far to obvious and the tail lacks any real details. It is a 100% functional design and many alternative designs are actually less functional. However, unfortunately for GM sometimes beauty is truth and that's on of the parts on the Corvette that lies to the eyes.
