^New model is significantly heavier and apparently less reliable (supercharger heatsoak, limp home mode, etc).

Thanks for posting those links. Sad stuff.

C6Z overheats when lapped hard, same with ZR1. The new C7Z isn't really different in that respect, too much heat from the blower to hot lap it continuously. There is a lot of hate on the vette forum over this currently, as people expect a race car straight out of the factory in the "Z" version. It didn't stop me from ordering one.

At $150k+, the NSX better deliver. When will we see real world testing?

Real world testing has been going on for a year, both at the 'Ring and in SoCal, among other places.

I think rwheelz is referencing a "real" production car on the street/track against the competition. It has been a long while coming and
there are still many unknowns with this car.

There will be a few anticipated real world car tests coming out over the summer. Next year, the consumer will have great mid-engine choices at differing price points. Great time to be looking for a such a car.

Alfa 4C
Porsche Cayman GT4
Lotus Evora 400
McLaren 570S
Acura NSX

Honda has already been doing competitive testing on the 'Ring (internally) as they put it up against a 458 Speciale and it (drumroll) was staying ahead.

Not sure if you can draw that conclusion from brief clips of a corner or two of both Cars going around the track.

Rumor has it an NSX was seen at a track testing recently with a 991 GT3 (which is much slower than a Speciale).

I'm not drawing that conclusion from the video. I'm drawing it from insider info on the testing at the 'Ring.

Don't forget that testing is not always about outright speed. You may drive cars back-to-back to compare elements of speed - cornering, braking, agility - rather than just try and smoke them overall.

^Great shots. It does look a lot better in person.
